“A young woman named Terry (Amanda Howell) lives in poverty in a future America embroiled in an unending war on terror. She faces an unplanned pregnancy, and must decide whether or not to enter a highly controversial government program that provides financial security for women in her situation.”

Measured Sacrifice is a powerful and thought provoking, still deeply intimate, short film written and directed by John Whitney and produced by Phil Garrett at Arbor Avenue.

Phil Garrett says: “As filmmakers, science fiction provides us the opportunity to craft a speculative narrative that can hold mirror up to the world, while providing a measure of distance from the issues for the audience.”
